Emiliano’s Restaurant
Emiliano’s Restaurant | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | Commercial | New Construction | 5200 s.f.
Project Overview:
Emiliano’s, now Mamacita’s, is a beloved local Mexican restaurant. The original building was known for its authentic character. It had a two-story interior courtyard with a large feature fountain that created a memorable dining experience. When the owners engaged us to design a new building, their goal was clear: carry that same sense of warmth, energy, and authenticity into a new space while elevating the overall experience.
Our design reinterprets those elements in their new ground-up restaurant. A clerestory tower marks the entry, bringing in natural light and creating a strong arrival moment. A double-height dining room is centered around a feature fountain that recalls the original interior courtyard. Heavy timber beams add an Old World character to the dining room, while a vibrant bar area opens to outdoor dining, seamlessly connecting interior and exterior spaces.
